10 CARA KOMPUTER KENCENG SAAT START-UP | CARA KOMPUTER | KOMPUTER

Tulisan ini saya sarikan dari tulisan Roland Waddilove di majalah Web User edisi september 07. Semoga ada gunanya, karena aku telah mencobanya dan emang bekerja dengan baik di komputerku. Mungkin bahkan sebagian trip n trik ini pernah dicoba sendiri oleh pembaca, paling tidak tips n trik ini layak dicoba, namun perlu hati-hati kutak-katiknya karena berkaitan dengan jeroannya windows xp.
1. Kosongkan folder Startup. KlikStart, All Programs, Startup. Klik dan tarik program yang tidak selalu diperlukan ketika startup ke, misalnya, desktop. Ntar kalo anda butuh program tsb anda dapat mengkliknya dari desktop.2.Nonaktifkan program start-up. Untuk menonaktifkan program-program yg tidak diperlukan ketika startup adalah klik Start, Run, lalu ketik msconfig dan klik OK. Lihat daftar program yg ada dan buang tanda cek untuk program yang tidak anda butuhkan. Jika tidak yakin apakah program tsb berguna atau tidak lihat dan dalam daftar di www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php
3. Pilih Font sesuai kebutuhan. Banyak program yg mengistal font ke dalam komputer anda, yg sudah pasti menambah waktu yg diperlukan bagi Windows utk start-up. Untuk membuang font yg tidak diperlukan, pergi ke Control Panel, ubah tampilan ke Classic View dan dobel klik Fonts. Lalu dobel klik utk melihatnya, jika tidak diperlukan pindah aja ke folder lain yg nantinya bisa anda kembalikan kalo menginginkannya kembali. Atau bisa juga gunakan program FontExpert 2007, dari www.ProximaSoftware.com, klik kanan pada font dan pilih deactivate utk tidak mengaktifkannya.
4. Buang Driver lama yang tidak dipakai lagi. Jika Anda melepas hardware dari sistem maka anda haru juga membuang software driver yang berkaitan. Gunakan Add or Remove Programs dalam Control Panel untuk membuang software dan driver yang berkaitan yang tidak diperlukan lagi.
5. Stop aja service yang tidak diperlukan. Service adalah program yang berjalan secara latar pada sistem komputer anda. Tidak semua service diperlukan, dan dapat dinonaktifkan. Klik Start, Run lalu ketik services.msc dan klik OK utk melihat semua service yang sedang berjalan. Pilih service yang ada dan deskripsi akan muncul di kiri apa fungsinya. Dobel klik service dan set ‘service type’ untuk menonaktifkannya. Namun hati-hati ini hanya boleh anda lakukan jika anda yakin ini tidak bakalan membuat windows anda berantakan lho…Contoh service yg tidak perlu adalah Uninterruptible Power Supply, Messenger, Alerter, Clipbook, Remote Registry, Network DDE dan Machine Debug Manager. 6. Nonaktifkan ‘file and printer sharing. Jika tak ada jaringan di rumah anda , maka tidak perlu berbagi file dan printer, jadi anda dapat menonaktifkan opsi ini untuk membuat kenceng saat start-up komputer anda. Caranya mudah kok. Masuk ke Control Panel, dobel klik Network Connections. Klik kanan tiap ikon dan pilih Properties. Uncheck aja “File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks”.
7. Defrag hard disk secara teratur. File-file yang digunakan untuk menjalankan Windows setelah sekian lama akan tersebar di hard disk anda, yang dapat membuat lelet proses start-up. Defragmentasi dapat merapikan file-file tersebut agar lebih cepat diakses. Caranya, klik Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Defragmeter. Atau gunakan TuneUp Utilities 2007 dari TuneUp Software GmbH, utk defragmentasi yang lebih baik. Dengan Tuneup ini, anda dapat juga mendefragmentasi membersihkan registry supaya komputer anda makin wes.. e wes.
8. Atur urutan Booting up. Komputer dapat mulai membaca system dari hard disk atau disket, CD atau DVD-ROM, USB Flash atau hard disk eksternal. Pastikan hard disk adalah yang pertama kali diakses Windows. Gunakan BIOS Setup Utility di komputer anda. Carilah urutan Booting-up , pastikan hard disk di urutan pertama. Tidak ada salahnya konsultasi dengan mengunjungi situs Tom’s Hardware untuk informasi lebih lanjut.
9. Kosongkan CD/DVD drive. Ketika mulai booting-up, komputer akan mengecek CD/DVD drive apakah ada disk di dalamnya, mungkin anda dengar suara drive yang berputar. Ambil disk di dalam CD/DVD drive sebelum mematikan komputer dan ketika anda menyalakan kembali lain waktu komputer tidak perlu repot-repot buang waktu mengecek isi CD/DVD drive.
10. Bersihkan folder Prefetch. Windows menyimpan kopi program yang barusan diakses di folder Windows/Prefetch supaya mempercepat proses pencarian di hard disk. Namun beberapa pakar PC menyatakan bahwa lebih baik membersihkan folder Prefetch secara teratur ini untuk menjaga loading program minimum ketika anda gunaka komputer anda kembali. Meskipun ada juga yang tidak setuju. Coba aja deh, aman kok dan rasakan bedanya.
